Charu Sinha becomes the first-ever women IPS officer to be appointed as Inspector General in a terrorist prone area of Jammu & Kashmir

Charu Sinha is the first female IPS officer who is appointed as Inspector General in one the most dangerous, terrorist attack prone area of Jammu and Kashmir and will lead CPRF’s Srinagar sector. She attended the 1996 Telangana batch and previously was appointed as IG in Bihar, where she was responsible for conducting various anti-Naxal operations. She was later transferred to Jammu in CRPF on her record of her successful and long tenure.
