Forbes releases 100 most powerful women list: 4 Indian women make to the list

Forbes, an American business magazine owned by Integrated Whale Media Investments, has released its coveted annual list of top 100 Most Powerful Women in the World.

This year 4 Indian women have made it to the list. This includes Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman at rank 37, HCL Corporation CEO Roshni Nadar Malhotra at rank 52, Biocon Executive Chairperson Kiran Mazundar-Shaw featuring at rank 72, and Nykaa founder Falguni Nayar at 88.

Interestingly, it is Sitharaman’s third time in the list. She is also two spots ahead of her American counterpart Janet Yellen.

The top 5 spots on this list have been occupied by Mackenzie Scott (1), US Vice President Kamala Harris (2), European Central Bank head Christine Lagarde (3), General Motors CEO Mary Barra (4) and Melinda French Gates (5), in that order.
