Mamata Banerjee’s wrote letter to Agriculture Minister asked for money

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar demanding funds to the state administration to implement the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in the midst of the continuous conflict between the Central and West Bengal governments.

Speaking about the state’s plan- ‘Krishak Bandhu’, Mamta Banerjee requested Narendra Singh Tomar to transfer funds. PM Kisan Yojana is a central scheme, under which small and marginal farmers are given assistance of Rs 6 thousand per year.

CM Mamta Banerjee wrote in the letter- “I once again request that through the machinery of the state government, please make arrangements to transfer funds to benefit the farmers. After sending the money, please give full information of the list of beneficiaries.” will be given.”

West Bengal is the only government that did not take advantage of the PM Kisan Yojana as the ruling TMC administration opposed transfer of funds directly to farmers’ bank accounts.

Before the assembly elections in the state, Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar expressing her desire to join the PM-KISAN Samman Yonja as a mediator for the farmers. This scheme was implemented in December 2018 and according to official figures 10 crore 85 lakh 28 thousand 337 people have benefited from it.
