On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation via his monthly radio show ‘Mann ki Baat’, where he spoke about the importance of stories and folklore in the Indian culture. PM Modi urged on continuing the tradition of the storytelling and praised the initiatives that help popularize stories form rural India. In his Mann ki Baat, PM Modi also mentioned about the history of stories and how they are as old as the civilization itself. He added that where there is a soul there’s a story, on one side is the storyteller while on the other side is a listener. Modi mentioned about ‘Panchatantra’ and ‘Hitopadesha’ and how we the citizens of India are lucky and proud to have them. He also urged all the storytellers to include inspirational stories from the British rule period of India to instill a sense of patriotism in everyone.
