Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that Tesla, the US clean energy and electric vehicle company, is going to operate in India in early 2021. He said this on Monday during a program of the Indian Express.

During this, he discussed and underlined the need for electrical cars in the country and said that many more Indian companies were working on electrical vehicles, whose prices can be discounted. However, Tesla is technically quite advanced.

Gadkari said that Tesla will start its operation with sales and after that, considering the response of the people about the car, they will think about its montage and production. The Union Minister further said – India is going to become the number-1 manufacturing hub during the next 5 years.

The world’s most valued automobile corporation has sealed plans to resume bookings next month and deliver by the end of the first quarter of 2021-22, according to the market cap. Musk also tweeted in October Tesla will be launched in India in 2021. Tesla also plans to open an R&D centre and a battery manufacturing company in the country. However, the company had plans to enter India only in 2016 when it started pre-booking for the Model 3.

It is being said that Tesla will probably import cars entirely from China and sell them online. Cars will not be sold through dealerships. It is rumoured that the price of the car can be 55 lakh rupees. The car has a range of up to 500 km and a top speed of 162 km per hour. It can also be 0-100 km / h in 3.1 seconds. However, there has been no official confirmation from the company about this.

Significantly, after Tesla arrives in India, a revolution in the EV car segment could come. Indian companies Mahindra, Tata, Hyundai have also launched EV cars in the market. In such a situation, after Tesla’s arrival, competition in these companies will increase and people will also be able to get the option of the best EV car.
