Yogi Adityanath inspects progress of Jewar airport

The ambitious Jewar airport project, expected to begin operations by the end of 2024, has recently undergone an inspection by the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was given updates on the Noida international airport project during a recent trip to Greater Noida. According to sources, he was pleased that the work was proceeding according to plan.

According to reports, Adityanath saw the administrative buildings, air traffic control tower, and runway as they were being built alongside his officials.

According to officials, the airport will probably start operating by the end of 2024. As a digital airport, the NIA will offer integrated systems and services, including those offered by technology partners, to ensure a smooth and largely contactless movement through the airport. Technologies like indoor geolocation, identity management, flow management, data mining, and IoT will help this.

When it opens, the airport will have one runway and a terminal that can accommodate 12 million people annually. 1334 Ha of land are being used for its development. The airport will be expanded with two parallel runways and more terminal space to accommodate 70 million passengers up until the conclusion of the concession in 2061. The project also offers the possibility of expansion past the initial 40-year concession period.

The NIA would offer air connectivity from Greater Noida, the fastest-growing economic and commercial centre in India, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, which offer a sizable market, agglomeration, and moving population.

Additionally, the airport will increase accessibility from important western Uttar Pradesh cities, which account for nearly two-thirds of the state’s GDP. With the development of the AIT and manufacturing cluster, as well as industrial corridors surrounding Jewar, the airport has served as a catalyst for industrial activity in the area.
