Jamia Millia Islamia student shot at inside Delhi hospital after brawl at university

A Jamia Millia Islamia student was shot and injured by another student inside the Holy Family Hospital in southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area on Thursday evening. A quarrel was received in the library of Jamia Millia Islamia University at around 8.30 pm.

A student of Jamia Millia Islamia University was injured after he was allegedly shot at by another student inside the Holy Family Hospital campus on Thursday. According to Delhi Police, a PCR call was received at around 9 pm. On Thursday in Jamia Nagar police station regarding the assault in the library of the university.

A senior police officer said that during interrogation it was learned that there was a fight between two groups of students. In the incident, a student, Noman Choudhary (26), a resident of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, suffered a serious head injury and had gone to Holy Family Hospital for treatment and Nauman Ali, an aide of another student Nauman Choudhary, also went to see his friend, the official said in a statement.

Meanwhile, one of the students of the other group, Jalal, a resident of Mewat in Haryana, reached the hospital with his friends and opened fire on Nauman Ali outside the emergency ward. According to the police, Nauman Ali had a superficial head injury. He was shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, and the police launched an investigation. Awaiting more information.
