Yogi Adityanath chairs high-level meet to review flood situation in Uttar Pradesh

Following heavy rains across the state on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presided over a high-level meeting and gave orders to his ministers to supervise relief and rescue efforts in the areas under their jurisdiction.

According to a report from the relief commissioner’s office, 1,370 villages in 18 districts of the state are under water as a result of recent heavy rains.

After reviewing the flood situation, Adityanath gave instructions to speed up the relief and recovery efforts in the affected districts. According to him, district control rooms should operate 24 hours a day under the direction of a joint magistrate-level officer.

According to the chief minister, adverse effects on life, cattle, and agriculture have been observed as a result of the recent extreme rains. Several districts have reported losses of both governmental and private property, he added.

Adityanath was quoted in an official release as adding that the state government is dedicated to making the necessary measures for the maintenance and safety of all impacted persons.

According to the relief commissioner’s report, the state has experienced three fatalities from extreme rainfall, one from lightning, one from a snakebite, and one from drowning.

The chief minister, who expressed sorrow over the deaths, urged urgent relief for the relatives of the deceased and competent medical care for the injured.

Adityanath added that residents of the flood-affected districts should receive early assistance. According to him, there should be no delay in the distribution of humanitarian packages and sufficient accommodations in relief camps.

The chief minister discussed the effects on agricultural produce and advised teams from the revenue and agriculture departments to conduct an extensive investigation and evaluate the damage so that farmers might receive compensation.
