On this day, sisters tie their brothers’ wrists in a rakhi or an amulet. This represents the brother’s duty to look out for his sister at all times.

On August 11, 2022, Rakhi will be observed this year. The event is observed in the month of Shravana (on a full moon day), which usually falls in August, according to the Hindu lunar calendar.

The Purnima (full moon day) tithi for this year will run from 10.38 am on August 11 till 7.05 am on August 12.
