UP: Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, Agra get first police commissioners

An official decree states that the first police commissioners for the three newly created commissionerates in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, Agra, and Prayagraj were appointed on Monday.

According to the late-night ruling, Ramit Sharma of Prayagraj, Preetinder Singh of Agra, and Ajay Mishra of Ghaziabad have all been named commissioners.

The three additional police commissionerates were added to the four already in place in Lucknow, Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), Varanasi, and Kanpur by the UP government last week. Other transfers were also made by the state administration in the same sequence. According to the decision, Alok Singh was moved from Gautam Buddh Nagar to the Lucknow headquarters as an additional DG while Ashok Mutha Jain was appointed the new CP of Varanasi.

ADG Satish Ganesh has been relocated to Lucknow headquarters from the position of CP Varanasi. According to the notification, Tarun Gaba, secretary of the home department, will take over as the new CP of Gautam Buddh Nagar in place of Laxmi Singh, IG Range Lucknow. While Rakesh Singh, the IG of the Special Security Force (SSF), has been transferred to Bareilly in the same position and has been replaced by Chandra Prakash.

Ghaziabad SSP Prashand Verma, who had been assigned to Bahraich as SP, has been replaced as the new SSP in Ayodhya by Muniraj G. As Additional Commissioner of Police, Agra, SP Bahraich Keshav Kumar Chaudhary has been assigned. Shailesh Pandey, SSP Prayagraj, was transferred to Mathura to serve in the same capacity in place of Abhishek Yadav, SP, Intelligence, Lucknow. Prabhakar Chowdhury, SSP Agra, has been appointed Commandant of PAC Sitapur.
