From Zomato to Google Pay: How mobile apps, social media helped police uncover clues in Shraddha Walkar murder case

In order to determine where the rest of Shraddha Walkar’s body parts have been dumped and how her murder was planned by the main suspect, Aadtab Poonawala, the Delhi Police has been conducting a thorough investigation into the case.

In addition to employing forensic sciences, lie detector tests, and other techniques to solve the murder, the police have also turned to looking at “new-age evidence,” or data gathered through social media and mobile applications.

In an effort to investigate the murder of Shraddha Walkar, the Delhi Police made the decision to use a number of smartphone applications and social networking sites. Police grabbed the phone of alleged murderer Aaftab, and after searching through the data, they found numerous significant hints.

Aaftab used Facebook, Instagram, Google, Google Pay, and Paytm on his phone, and officials contacted these services for information about the murder. The Delhi Police also contacted the meal delivery app Zomato and the dating app Bumble.

The Investigators discovered that Aaftab had invited other ladies to the residence after allegedly killing Shraddha while her dismembered body parts were still kept in the refrigerator thanks to the responses it obtained from Bumble, Zomato, and Paytm.

The police were able to recover the search history of the main suspect, who was Shraddha Walkar’s live-in partner, by contacting Google. This revealed that he had looked up various ways to get rid of a dead body and murder evidence.

Retrieving some of Shraddha and Aaftab’s older chats required the help of Facebook and Instagram. It was also revealed that Aaftab had been using Shraddha’s Instagram account to create the farce that she is well even after her death.

Aaftab Poonawala is currently under the custody of Delhi Police and is set to undergo a polygraph test and a narco-analysis test to solve more mysteries attached to the murder.
