Today marks the 37th anniversary of actor and novelist Anupam Kher and Kirron’s nuptials. On the occasion of their wedding anniversary, the Saaransh actor pulled an old photo from the family album and reminisced about all the wonderful years they had together.
Anupam, who is well-known for his upbeat videos and encouraging social media postings, uploaded a photo of his wedding from his father’s “treasure trunk” and wished his spouse health and happiness on their special day. For those who don’t know, Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher got married in 1985 after becoming close friends while working in Chandigarh’s theatre. In her previous marriage to Gautam Berry, Kirron gave birth to a boy named Sikandar Kher in 1981.

The seasoned actor responded, sharing a photo of the pair from their wedding, “Best wishes on your anniversary, Kirron. During a recent trip to Shimla, I discovered this photograph of our wedding, which took place 37 years ago, in my father’s treasure chest. May God grant you eternal joy and a long, healthy life. The BJP MP is seen in the throwback photo dressed as a bride with a golden saree and ornate jewellery, while Anupam is wearing a dhoti and a garland around his neck. Anupam revealed his wife Kirron’s multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, diagnosis last year. She is on the road to recovery, he had added. Kirron has been receiving cancer treatment.
The performer has since recovered from her sickness and is back at work after receiving therapy. The actor from Uunchai, who was recently in Shimla, was also honoured with the Himachal University’s Alumni of the Year award. On the work front, the actor has a few films scheduled to come out, including Uunchai, directed by Sooraj Barjatya, and Shiv Shastri Balboa, written by Ajayan Venugopalan. His upcoming film appearance will be in Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, in which he will portray the politician Jaya Prakash Narayan.
