During his most recent visit, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also reflected on his time spent as a student at the Himachal Pradesh University.

The Himachal Pradesh administration plans to implement significant tech-driven changes in the education sector in order to take advantage of the advent of 5G technology in the state, chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Wednesday.

At an event held by the Hamirpur Students’ Association at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, he made some remarks.

According to Sukhu, the government intends to create new technical courses in the state’s educational institutions so that the youth would have better options for employment and independent work. He claimed that training in fields like robotics, blockchain technology, cyber security, cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning might give young people improved job prospects.

A Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School is being established in every assembly constituency in phases to provide high-quality education in rural areas, according to the chief minister, for which a budget of $300 million has been set up. Additionally, loans at a 1% interest rate will be given to low-income students to ensure that they do not miss out on a higher education.

The CM stated, “Legal rights have been granted to 6,000 orphans by granting them the status of ‘children of the state,’ and it will be the duty of the government to care for them until they reach the age of 27 years. The expenses of their fee, hostels, pocket money of 4,000 per month, cloth allowance, and festival allowance, as well as the expenses of a 15-day exposure visit once a year will also be covered by the state government.

Sukhu claimed that the state administration was working diligently to give students pursuing higher education a high-quality education.

Sukhu also reflected on his time spent in college, saying that in order to face the problems of the future, it was important to recall our history. The youthful generation has a duty to protect Himachal Pradesh’s unique cultural heritage, he continued.

The CM oversees the creation of SoPs for the removal of dry trees.

The marking of dried trees on forest land will be done daily in the state, and the responsibility of the relevant divisional forest officers (DFO) will be fixed to ensure that the task is completed in a timely manner, Sukhu also presided over a meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Forest Corporation on Wednesday.

Before ordering the DFOs to compile a list of dried-up trees by June 15, 2023, mark them, and deliver them to the corporation for felling, he declared that the state government would take strict measures against the negligent officers.

The CM also gave instructions on how to create a standard operating procedure (SoP) in this regard and when to submit a report. He said that delaying the removal of dried-out trees was costing the state $1 billion year in lost revenue.

In order to increase revenue, he continued to emphasise the importance of successful marketing of timber. He also instructed the relevant authorities to call a meeting of the corporation on June 8 to examine the status of the decisions made at the meeting today.

Additionally stated was the choice to appoint contractors for the timely felling of the dry trees.

Sunder Singh Thakur and Prabodh Saxena, the chief parliamentary secretaries, Kehar Singh Khachi, the deputy chairman of the forest corporation, and Onkar Chand Sharma were among those present.
