IIM Ahmedabad launches management programme for professionals in aviation & aeronautics sector

IIM Ahmedabad and ENAC France on Tuesday launched an advanced management program for professionals in aviation and aeronautics. A 6-month program as per IIM-A, IIMA and ENAC, offers joint certification in France, dual alumni status and 10-day on-campus immersion.

The program is curated to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles, practices and policies relevant to the aviation and aeronautical industry, including the technical aspects as well as the leadership and business management dimensions.

The eligibility criteria for the program allows Graduation/Post Graduation in any discipline with 50% or more marks and minimum 5 years of work experience in the relevant field. The last date to apply is October 31, 2022, and the course will start from November 10, 2022. To know more about the program candidates can email [email protected].

Participants from a wide range of aviation, aeronautical and allied industry sectors will learn airline and airport operations and management, multi-modal logistics, infrastructure development, public-private partnerships; Mergers and Acquisitions in Aviation, ESG, Sustainability, IT Strategy and Applications, and various other disciplines from prestigious IIMA faculty.

According to the official press release, participants will learn about emerging technical and operational aspects covering aviation and air transportation operations and management, big data applications and optimization, maintenance and security issues, drones and UTMs, and air traffic management.

Debjit Roy, Professor, IIM Ahmedabad, said, “The Indian aviation and aeronautical sector is growing, and so there is a need for experts with techno-managerial skills. We are pleased to introduce this program to those who wish to make the sector more disruptive.

While the future of the sector may present many challenges, participants will have a chance to imagine and reproduce how the sector should operate in line with the government’s objective of making India a global aviation hub.

Our unique custom-designed programme is backed by strong academic research and deep insights from the industry. Our programmefaculty have extensive global experience in business management as well as aviation technologies. We will focus on the changing dynamics of the sector and introduce to participants the latest global innovations in the field.”

The live interactive classes will be held online and can be accessed remotely every Saturday for 6 months on VCNow platform. Another highlight of the live online blended learning programmeare the two short in-campus modules at IIM Ahmedabad and a five-day Campus at ENAC France. The latter will cover industrial visits for networking and business development. Participants who complete the programme successfully will receive joint certification and dual alumni status by IIMA and ENAC, France.
