It’s time to Fly: The doors of Kamala Nehru Hostel at Tikaram College Aligarh opened after 2 years with special facilities

Synopsis:

It’s a new dawn for all the girl students. After being closed for two years due to Corona, the hostel of Tikaram Kanya Mahavidyalaya has been opened. Now there would be no need for any girl student to go out for online form, scholarship form, admit card or other work.

There is a good news for all the girl students who had dream of taking higher education from nearby cities and villages. Now there will be not any hassle on daily basis of going to college and then returning to home from many kilometers away every day.

A hostel has started for the girl students in Tikaram Girls College for two years. Apart from staying in a safe environment in the hostel, breakfast and meals for both the times will be available with other facilities. Also, they will not have to go out for online form, scholarship form, admit card and other work. The hostel was closed for two years due to the Corona period.

24 hours WiFi facility: The hostel has 67 rooms. It can accommodate 175 girl students. The mess built in the hostel provides accommodation and food at affordable rates. They will be getting lunch and dinner, breakfast and refreshments in the evening.

The facility of reading in the library will be there during the night time also . Also there is Smt. Vidyapati Devi Student Facilitation Center running for the online work of the girl students near the main entrance of the hostel .Here the student can fill the forms like withdrawal, money transfer, scholarship and other forms from the Aadhar card.

Along with this, there is a facility to get photo state and take out the admit card. The responsibility of warden has been given to Dr. Sarita Sharma. There is WiFi facility with 24 hours electricity.

Established in 1937: Tikaram Girls College was established in 1937 for the higher education of girl students on Ramghat Road. At that time the girl students who were coming from nearby cities and villages did not have the facility to live. Keeping in view their need, the hostel was constructed in 1960. It was named Kamala Nehru Hostel. The hostel was inaugurated by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Before this, it was the residential college for the higher education of girls in the city. Till now many girl students have reached high positions after studying from this college.

At present 4500 girl students are pursuing their higher education in the college.

“ Due to the Corona period, the closed hostel has been started for the girl students. Along with living with a safe environment, special care will be taken to eat food. Night reading facility will also be available in the library ” , Said , Pro. Sharmila Sharma, Principal, Tikaram Girls College.
