School shuts in Lucknow, several other UP districts closed today due to heavy rain

In view of incessant rains, a holiday has been declared in all schools and higher educational institutions in many districts of Uttar Pradesh including the state capital Lucknow on Tuesday.

In a statement issued by Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar, it has been said that schools will remain closed on Tuesday.

A state government official said that in the districts where the authorities have declared a holiday in view of the rains, higher educational institutions will also remain closed on Tuesday.

On Monday, Aligarh, Mathura and Etah districts ordered schools to remain closed for two days, October 10 and 11. All government, government aided, private schools up to class 12 in the state will remain closed today as released by the Meteorological Department for the Heavy rain warning.

Earlier on Sunday, the district administration in Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Agra, Meerut, Aligarh, Mathura, Kanpur, Etah, Mainpuri and Firozabad had ordered closure of schools on Monday. Heavy rains continued in many parts of Uttar Pradesh on Monday as well.
