Mumbai, 18 April 2024: Habitat for Humanity India is delighted to announce the appointment of Anand Kumar Bolimera as its new National Director. With over two and a half decades of extensive experience in strategic planning, programme development, review and evaluation, and delivery of inclusive humanitarian response initiatives, Anand brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for social impact to his new role. I would also like to thank James Samuel for his incredible dedication and commitment as the interim National Director.”

Anand is a seasoned professional with deep rooted knowledge about the development sector in India. He has led numerous humanitarian response programmes, including relief, rehabilitation, and resettlement efforts, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver impactful solutions. His experience in multi-stakeholder engagement and inclusive policy promotion underscores his dedication to build partnerships that drive sustainable change and transform marginalised communities.

“To lead Habitat for Humanity India is an honour for me, particularly at a time when the need for housing is more pertinent than ever.” said Anand. “I am deeply inspired by the organisation’s mission to empower vulnerable families by partnering with them to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. I look forward to collaborating with the Board, work with our remarkable team and foster close connections with our network of supporters to advance Habitat’s mission and impact the lives of families across India.”

As the National Director, Anand will lead the organisation in its efforts to address housing challenges, promote community resilience, and create a lasting change for families in need of decent shelter. His strategic vision, coupled with his commitment to inclusivity and social justice, will guide Habitat for Humanity India as it continues to support families and build brighter futures.
