Keeping in mind the severe cold conditions, a revised notice was issued by the Government of Uttar Pradesh regarding holidays in schools of the state. An official notice has been issued by the district magistrates in various districts.

The District Magistrate of Lucknow has ordered all schools to conduct online classes for those students of Classes 9 to 12 who do not have their pre-board exams or practical exams from January 12 to January 14 in view of severe cold.

Classes 10 to 12 students who have their exams will be called to schools. According to an official order, schools up to Class 8 will remain closed till January 14.

The notice further mentioned that online classes would be conducted for students from classes 9 to 12 and in case the classes will not be conducted due to any reason holiday till January 11 will be declared.

The notice mentioned that pre-board practical classes will run from 10 am to 2 pm.

For students of Classes 10 to 12 who have their exams, the DM asked schools to make the following arrangements:

  • It will be the responsibility of the school management to make adequate arrangements for the prevention of cold in the classrooms of such students and it will be ensured that heaters etc. will be used to keep the temperature normal.
  • Students will not be made to sit outside or in the open for classes, practicals, or exams
  • The compulsion of students to wear uniform is abolished and it is advised to go to school only wearing such warm clothes which are capable of protecting them from the cold.
